Your Impact:
Based at our Smeaton Grange facility and reporting to the Production and Continuous Improvement Manager, you will play a key role in operating and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth production. With safety and quality as your top priorities, you’ll help us deliver premium products while minimising waste and keeping operations efficient.
As a hands-on team player, you’ll thrive in our small-site environment, where flexibility, reliability, and collaboration are essential.
You’ll be working on a rotating shift roster:
- Week 1: 5:00am – 1:06pm
- Week 2: 10:30am – 6:36pm
This role also includes some Saturday shifts, paid at overtime rates.
More specifically, you will be involved in:
- Setting up machinery in line with the daily production plan
- Safely operating processing lines and related equipment
- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents
- Troubleshooting issues: clearing jams, resolving faults, and responding to breakdowns
- Ensuring incoming materials meet required specifications
- Verifying that finished products meet quality standards
- Accurately reading and recording batch and production information
- Supporting general cleaning of the facility and equipment
You may also assist with other duties such as debagging, filling, processing, case packing, dispatch, and more — depending on the day’s needs.
What you will bring:
- A current forklift licence (essential)
- Experience working in the food manufacturing industry (essential)
- Background in a production or manufacturing environment — dairy experience highly regarded
- Experience operating filling machines and related equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good reading, writing, and documentation abilities
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently
- Solid problem-solving skills
