Your Role:
At The a2 Milk Company, we’re passionate about dairy that makes a difference. Backed by science and driven by innovation, we’re transforming the future of nutrition through our unique approach to quality and sustainability
Due to our ongoing growth, we’re looking for a Supplier Quality Manager to oversee supplier assurance and quality activities across our Australian Liquid Milk network. Based in Southbank, Melbourne, this pivotal role supports both our manufacturing site and national supplier network—including packaging, 3PL, and 3PM relationships.
This newly scoped role is not site-based—it’s supplier-focused and nationally visible. You’ll lead the performance monitoring, auditing, and improvement of key suppliers across VIC and interstate (including Sydney and Kyabram), with cross-functional stakeholder engagement under your remit. Your work will influence both operational quality and commercial supplier relationships.
As part of this role, you will:
- Manage and continuously improve the Vendor Assurance Program across all liquid milk suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance (3PLs, 3PMs, and packaging) through KPIs, audits, and action plans
- Attend and lead supplier review meetings and quality stakeholder engagement
- Conduct end-to-end quality trials—particularly around fresh milk, packaging, and filling lines
- Act as the quality representative for supplier and site trials, including customer complaints and quality incident response
- Collaborate with NPD, Regulatory, Operations, and Marketing to support new launches and supplier onboarding
- Assist the site when required—but with a focus on the broader supplier landscape
- Travel regularly (1–2 nights/month), with ad hoc site visits and supplier meetings as needed
About You
You’ll be confident working in a fast-paced FMCG environment, with deep experience in supplier quality across fresh milk, food, or beverage categories.
You will ideally have a strong set of skills and experience in the following areas:
- 8–10+ years' experience in Quality Management in the food/FMCG space
- Degree-qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, or related science field (essential)
- Strong stakeholder management experience at a commercial and technical level
- Experience in quality trials, complaint resolution, and managing packaging quality end-to-end
- Collaborative mindset with confidence to lay expectations clearly and build productive relationships
- Practical knowledge of HACCP, internal/external audits, and GMP
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage new scope and evolving business needs
- Must have a current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across VIC and interstate
