About the role:
Based in our Auckland CBD office, the Raw Materials Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the approval, compliance, and ongoing management of raw materials used across our infant nutrition products. Working closely with Product Development, Regulatory, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality teams, you will help ensure raw materials meet functional, regulatory, quality, and market access requirements across Australia, New Zealand, China, and ASEAN markets.

More specifically, you will be involved in:
- Support the establishment and maintenance of raw material specifications aligned with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Assist with the approval of new raw materials and support compliance with destination market requirements, including FSANZ and GB Standards.
- Partner with Regulatory Affairs and Quality teams to support supplier testing reviews, audits, and risk management activities.
- Maintain and update raw material databases and documentation systems to ensure specifications remain accurate and current.
- Contribute to raw material qualification, traceability, and risk assessment processes.
- Work closely with Procurement and suppliers to identify and resolve compliance risks and improvement opportunities.
- Support periodic reviews of supplier and raw material performance to proactively identify potential issues.
- Collaborate with Product Development teams to assess raw materials for innovation and reformulation initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders on ingredient functionality and compliance considerations.
- Support Quality and Regulatory teams during audits and inspections related to raw materials.
What you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in raw material management, quality, or regulatory compliance within the infant nutrition and dairy industry.
- Strong knowledge of raw material approval processes, food safety requirements, FSANZ, and GB Standards.
- Experience working with suppliers, conducting audits, and managing raw material risk assessments.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with specification management and documentation systems.
- The ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
